Vote for Lilly's news articles on Current - Help her story get Aired on TV!!

Last night, I submitted A few articles (written by Susan Murphy Milano)to Current TV. This morning, I received an email from Current TV explaining that the submissions have gained enough momentum to be featured on the UK homepage.

But wait-it gets better! Getting on the homepage means the submissions are being considered for inclusion in Current News pod, an open, participatory newscast on the web and Current TV. That's right, TV!!

How do you get your item included in Current News? Encourage friends to vote on the submissions, and improve the chances of making it to air. You can also help make this happen by including a link on your Myspace, Facebook, blog, or other social networking sites-tell everyone to come vote!

War On Crime: Justice Interrupted By the Miami Police Department

War On Crime: Justice Interrupted By the Miami Police Department

Can this be the crime scene?? See the pictures!

Susan wrote a great posting about the potential crime scene in Lilly's disappearance.
Below are the pictures of the property where Lilly might be found. But getting police to follow up on this lead is a different story. As usual, it's not their priority. For those that are not following the case, Lilly was last seen at her fiance; Christen Pacheco's apartment on
June 1, 2007. She's never been seen or heard from ever again. Christen reported Lilly missing 24 hours later, before calling her mother or family members & friends. According to his story, she walked out of his apartment at 2am in pajamas to pick flowers and took a bungee cord with her.

In honor of Lilly ~ "Lilly My One and Only"

Lilly loves this song. We used to listen to it together in my apartment in Miami Beach. That was before everything changed and she became engaged to Christen Pacheco.
I saw the video recently and it overwhelmed me with sadness, made me cry for a little bit. I sat here on my computer remembering sweet Lilly and our times together. Thinking about her sense of humor, her laugh, her love for animals. I wanted to share it with all of you.
Please, take a moment to watch the video. The song is called "Lilly, my one and only" by Smashing Pumpkins.

National Center for Missing Adults needs funding. Please help support the NCMA

I have a deep appreciation and admiration for the National Center for Missing Adults. I'm sure you know who they are but for those that don't I'll fill you in. They are a division of Nation's Missing Children Organization, Inc. (NMCO) - a 501c (3) non-profit organization working in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs. The National Center for Missing Adults (NCMA) was formally established after the passage of Kristen’s Law (H.R. 2780) by the 106th United States Congress on October 26th, 2000 (S11181). As directed by H.R. 2780, NCMA operates as the national clearinghouse for missing adults, providing services and coordination between various government agencies, law enforcement, media, and most importantly - the families of missing adults. NCMA also maintains a national database of missing adults determined to be "endangered" or otherwise at-risk.

The NCMA is in desperate need of funding. If you have the means to help financially, please consider sending a donation. You can use their automated and secure credit card donation system, and help to make your funds go further by significantly reducing processing and administrative costs.
You can also Donate by Phone. Call them at (800) 690-FIND or (602) 749-2000, extension #113, to make a credit card contribution over the telephone during normal business hours.

Another great way to help the NCMA is by becoming an advocate by contacting congress and encouraging others to do the same. Click here for more info on becoming an advocate and writing to congress.

1st Annual Safety Awareness Event & Candlelight Vigil in honor of Lilly Aramburo

On Sunday, June 1st, 2008, Justice in Miami, Subliminal Pixels Lab and PK Graphics, sponsored a community safety event on the 1 year anniversary of Lilly Aramburo's disappearance. The event was a success!

We listened to live music courtesy of Power 96. Safety information and ID kits were handed out to parents and children. Guests signed in to receive their ribbon and candle. We had the beautiful "Lilly" line of hats and headbands, for sale. They were designed and donated courtesy of Maggie's Rose. You can see my girls and Havanna in the video wearing their hats. Everyone had something nice to say about them! If you'd like more information on the "Lilly" line, please feel free to go to the Maggie's Rose website or contact us.

The butterfly ceremony/meditation was amazing. You could see the butterflies landing on our fingers and hands and the prayer flags in the background, blowing in the wind, releasing prayers for Lilly and all beings. A poem was read by Renea, Maya Angelou's "Touched by an Angel". And I read an excerpt from The Way of the Boddhisattva by Shantideva. We have a video clip of that below.

As a sign of solidarity with families of missing loved ones everywhere, Pastor Tony Isaacs led a special prayer. Our intention was that as each individual candle was added to the whole, it showed victims and their loved ones that there is a ray of hope.

All of the efforts were dedicated in honor of missing persons and victims everywhere, specifically, Lilly Aramburo, Heather "Kitty" Riggio, and Jennifer Kesse. Our aspiration is that they receive justice and the attention they deserve.

We'd like to extend a special thank you to our volunteers, (in no special order) Vivian, Renea, Sara, Delilah, Jamie, Hope Movement, the volunteers from Christ Fellowship, Pastor Tony Isaacs and all those who desire not to be mentioned (you know who you are!!) Thank you to our internet activists, our bloggers and friends in demanding justice...
And last but not least, a big hug and my sincere thanks to Bagua

THANK YOU! Your love and support helps us get through these difficult times. We stand with you in pride and gratitude. May you always live in truth and peace.

Although we had media present, only one channel and it's affiliate played it on the news. Here is that clip from the vigil http://cbs4.com/video/?id=55873@wfor.dayport.com

Messege from Lucely, Lilly's mom

"Thank you for your support and encouragement that you brought to Lilly's family and friends at the candle vigil. Also thank you to the people that could not be present but were involved in one way or another and who's efforts were appreciated, you truly touched our hearts. Results have already been brought forward thanks to your passionate work and dedication. This is one step closer to finding Lilly and to bring her home.

God bless you and thank you again."

Light a Candle for Lilly

Tonight is Lilly's Aramburo's One Year Missing Vigil and even though all of us cannot physically attend, let's be sure to keep Lilly, her family and those who have been working so hard at organizing this Vigil in our thoughts and/or prayers.

Great idea that I saw a member had posted on a missing persons forum, I'm quoting here...

Just a favor and a reminder.

Most of us here are not following the case of Lilly Aramburo, but she is a young Mom who's been missing for a year tomorrow from Miami, FL. The cops did nothing for a year.

Tonight is her candlelight vigil.

Since we cannot attend, please consider lighting a candle for her where you are.

6pm eastern
5pm central
4pm mountain
3pm pacific
and so on
